“My partner and I have just returned from a fantastic short break at Etang de Azat-Chatenet. With a mixture of stunning rural scenery and impressive fish this location really does tick all the boxes if you are looking for quiet weekend away with your family and the opportunity to catch serious amounts of fish.
As per usual James' hospitality was unparalleled and his extensive knowledge meant we were catching fish within the first ten minutes of putting baits into the water. My partner who had no real previous fishing experience was treated to her first catfish, grass carp and mirror carp with the most impressive fish being a 54lb catfish.
Whilst fishing over three days and nights we managed to land around 20 fish with the largest being a 72lb cat. A vast array of specimen sized cats and carp kept us busy as well as the appearance of a lovely grass carp around the 50lb mark. I honestly cannot recommend this fantastic venue enough. I have been visiting the lake for around 10 years now and believe it cannot be beaten for it's tranquil location and truly staggering amount of fish. James has created a wonderful fishery that he is rightly proud of. Take my advice and give it a go if you are looking for an unpressured, relaxing week of fishing. You will not regret it.”

“Me and my brother in-law just spent a week here...

The surroundings are something else, you’re well looked after, there is a converted barn with a full kitchen also a shower room and a wash room. James and his dad were great hosts with a vast knowledge of the lake and fishing techniques totally changed my outlook on fishing. I soon had my first catch, but the highlight of the day was a 50lb Catfish, absolutely amazing feeling and the biggest fish I have ever caught by a factor of 50. “Really enjoyed my first ever...
...session at Azat-Chatenet. Right from the off James couldn't have been more helpful. January 27th two mid twenties in 48 hours was very satisfying... especially in the colder conditions. My first fish was a 25lb white Koi which is a personal best, then my second fish was a 27lb mirror carp. Both fish largely due to James' excellent knowledge of his water and his stock. Both fish in immaculate condition and fought very well. Looking forward to the return visit in February.”
